About Course
You will see our vet head to Freightliners City Farm to deal with some unwell animals.
Mixed practice remains a popular career pathway for graduate vets largely because it offers so much variety.
It simply means that as a mixed practice vet, you deal with lots of different species on a day-to-day basis. Our vet will work through numerous cases with a huge variety of species including rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, goats and chickens!
You’ll see the vet using problem-solving and communication skills to diagnose and treat the animals in their care. Most vet schools require you to shadow vets prior to applying to vet school. This gives you a realistic and informed insight into what it’s like to work as a vet.
Veterinary Mentor are committed to ensuring that students still have the opportunity to gain valuable insight into veterinary careers and high quality application support, even in these difficult times. As part of the UK's largest medical family, we welcome you to participate in our free virtual work experience programme.
These sessions were held live last year, and due to high demand we have recorded these sessions and produced a comprehensive e-learning programme consisting of six sessions. Once all of the sessions have been completed, you will gain access to your certificate which can then be added to your portfolio.
Our 6-day programme will take you across the entire veterinary profession and give you a taste of the diversity the degree offers, and show you what skills and attributes are needed to be a great veterinary surgeon!
One session will be released every month
This course will be available from the 07/10/2024 to 04/11/2024
This work experience was originally aired live 18/07/21
